The Redemptorists were founded by St Alphonsus Ligiouri in Naples, Italy in 1732, “to preach the good news to the poor and the most abandoned.”

Worldwide

The Congregation has spread to most parts of the world and is currently organized into provinces, vice provinces, regions and missions, which constitute five Conferences namely, Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Oceania and, Africa and Madagascar. The Redemptorists of Zimbabwe belong to the Conference of Africa and Madagascar (COREAM).
